Q: How do I access vOffice Services?
A: vOffice Desktop - With an internet browser. All staff login through a common web page and are then redirected to their company services.
A: vOffice Mail – Each staff member installs Microsoft Outlook which is then configured to synchronise email with vOffice mail servers.
A: vOffice Fax – sending and receiving faxes is achieved using your email software. Essentially it is the same as sending and receiving email.
Q: What sort of internet connection do I need?
A: All vOffice services can operate over broadband internet or a Private Network connection. Based on the service being used and the number of staff at each site vOffice can provide guidance on the appropriate connection type and speed.
Q: How Secure is vOffice?
A: vOffice takes security very seriously. All user passwords must be complex, all data is protected and separate from other vOffice clients. Data is more secure than if it was in an onsite server as it cannot be picked up and carried away. vOffice restricts access to core systems to authorised personnel only.
A: All vOffice Servers are protected by antivirus, and enterprise level firewall systems. All data is backed periodically across the network during the day and a nightly backup by tape is performed, which is then kept for one week. The data is also stored on our backup server for two weeks in case of Disaster Recovery requirements. The Tape Backup is taken off site every week and kept in a secure vault.
Q: How Reliable is vOffice?
A: vOffice is an online service designed to be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It uses highly redundant hardware and software allowing services to operate with a high degree of reliability.
A: vOffice is designed to operate with 99.9% availability during M-Fri Business Hours and 99.5% availability during after hours.
A: vOffice services are significantly more robust and reliable than small and medium business on site servers. vOffice servers use technology that allows reboots and server rebuilds to be complete within minutes of hardware failure.
